How do i get rid of my motorized barometric relief dampers?

I have a large gymnasium that uses two motorized barometric relief dampers. They are noisy and I’d like to get rid of them. I can’t use standard relief dampers because sometimes the pressure is positive, and other times when school is in session the pressure is negative. Any suggestions?

This is a very complicated question. It sounds like you have a overall system problem. If other locations within your facility are causing pressure issues throughout your facility, the entire system needs to be looked at. For Example, do you have economizers, and/or power exhausts in the rooftop units.? Does the facility have an ERV? Is there an economizer which is not functional. Are the power exhausts fixed or modulating?

Too many issues to blindly resolve. I would involve a good mechanical HVAC company to investigate your pressure issues, and please keep us up to date with our progress!
